Chicken Lovers Each Spring, hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts descend upon the Rocket City to attend the Great Chicken Rally.  Eat, ride, dance, sleep, repeat!  Three nights camping, BBQ Thursday, pancakes each morning, smoked chicken, Friday evening meal, and Saturday, lunch and dinner meals.  Sides will vary.  Free coffee, tea, lemonade, popcorn, and peanuts.  Who could ask for more?

Attendees get a rally pin, rally gift, chicken key chain (first 600), 100's of Door prizes, standard rally awards, vendors, seminars, all for a $40 rally fee, children 6 to 12, $20, under 6 free. Fri. night entertainment is a couple guys who played at last year's MOA National rally in Johnson City. Scott Boyer, and Kelvin Holly (both from Muscle Shoals, AL) will do sets full of cover tunes by a long list of artists like Beatles, Eagles, Allman Brothers etc.

Scott is a singer/songwriter from Muscle Shoals. He was an original member of the band Cowboy that toured with the early Allman Brothers band. He was the leader of the famed "Capricorn Rhythm Section in Macon Ga. His song "Please Be with Me" was recorded and made a hit by both The Allman Brothers and later by Eric Clapton.

Kelvin Holly also lives in the Florence/Muscle Shoals area. A journeyman guitar player with a long list of artists that he has both toured with and done extensive studio work with. Currently the lead guitar player for Little Richard, The Amazing Rhythm Aces, Scott Boyer and The Decoys . He has just finished some studio work on Paul Thorn's latest record to be released in June.

A Vintage/Classic BMW bike show will be held May 28th and May 29th. On Saturday there will be a Vintage/Classic BMW bike ride - judging will be held same day 12:00 to 3:00 PM. Awards for:

Camping information

The rally fee includes camping.  RV's are $50 extra for sites with water & electric.  Only 6 such sites are available and must be pre-reserved and pre-paid for by May 15th; be parked before noon Thursday; and stationary until Sunday morning.  RV sites SOLD OUT-NO MORE AVAILABLE.  Small pop-up campers towed by your motorcycle are allowed with no restrictions or extra fees.  Additional RV's and large campers towed by cars will have to camp in the alternate camping area next to the main pavilion and there will be no extra cost.  Please e-mail for clarification if you are unsure.  Vendors please call ahead to Connie Reaves.
